September 2025 — It’s been a while since we’ve been on a vacation so this time away is very much appreciated. This short trip is a special time with the family to celebrate Brian’s birthday (which happens to be a milestone birthday) and refreshing our souls with some quality time in the lovely scenery of the North Shore of Minnesota!

We were the first to arrive at this unbelievable quaint log cabin in Moose Lake, perfectly named Cozy Cabin. When we dream of having a log cabin this is what we think of. The cabin is situated on 217 acres and has about five miles of groomed trails for hiking and exploring.

A little something about Moose Lake, MN. It is known as the “Agate Capital of the World” and is home to the world’s largest agate on record, weighing in at 108 pounds. This is kept on display at First National Bank of Moose Lake, if you are interested.

Saturday started a little early with the sunrise as there are no shades on most of the windows at the cabin. But nevertheless we have laughed the day away. We took advantage of the overcast sky and got some nice family photos done. Then pilled in the cars and took the dogs for a walk at the Moose Lake state park. We just finished the one mile loop and it started to rain. Good timing, so we headed back to the cabin for a little rest and some cards as well as lots more laughs. Time to check the local brewery for a few beers plus a little souvenir shopping. We went out for a really good dinner at the Lazy Moose Grill which is a must do if you are coming through Moose Lake. We ended the night with lots more laughter and game. Wow what a fun day!

We started another day early with the sunrise and coffee. after a little cleaning up we decided to put on the F1 race and all gathered around the iPad to watch the race.

We kicked off another day early with the sun coming through the trees and a cup of coffee. After tidying up a bit and being the Formula 1 fans that we are, gathered around the iPad to watch the F1 race together. Always a good start to a Sunday.

We hung out at the cabin for most of the day, listening to music and playing games. Then we took advantage of the beautiful day and went to Ohly Art Gallery in town. We had a great time talking about art with the owner of the gallery. After that we spent the rest of the night just chillin’ and watching a movie.

The sun is up again, it’s time to pack up and head home. Thanks Cozy Cabin for a wonderful and relaxing vacation.
